eye shadowDust a strip of gold shadow onto the center of your eyelids from lash lines to creases. Use one with just a hint of shimmer to make it daytime—and not at all disco. It completely opens the eye up. If gold’s not your thing, smudge white shimmer powder onto the inner V of your eyes for an eight-hours-of-sleep effect

Dry your hair faster than ever!
September 10th, 2009

wet hairFinally, a solution to dry wet hair in half the time . First, leave the room where you showered- the steam makes your hair retain moisture. Also, use your fingers- not a brush- to blow out your hair until it’s 95% dry. Then, smooth with a brush and then cheat your way to shine with a flat iron.

Beauty Buster: Sweater best!
September 9th, 2009

SweaterMake your old sweater new again!

De-lint your sweaters using a pumice stone. Lightly rub it over the garment to remove lint and fuzz; just make sure the knit is substancial, not delicate or thin.   Then put it on and feel the difference. GO Sweaters!

beautybusterThis week’s beauty buster suggests you should use a flat iron set on high to smooth out hemlines, pockets, and the spaces in between buttons on shirts. A few minutes and that wrinkled shirt will look as good as new!

PRESERVE YOUR TIGHTS!
September 4th, 2009

Winter TightsFall’s almost here and that means one thing: STOCKING UP ON TIGHTS!!

Save some money while you’re at it and make your faves last through the winter. Place your tights in a zip lock plastic bag, fill with water and freeze until it’s frozen solid. Thaw the bag at room temperature. Freezing hardens the fibers extending their life tenfold. You’re welcome!

The Perfect Fall Eye Shadow
September 3rd, 2009

Copper Eye Shadow

So what’s the perfect eye shadow color as we transition from summer to fall?  Warm copper shadow: First line your eyes with brown powder shadow that is several tones deeper than your complexion (if you have dark skin, use with red undertones). Then smooth copper shadow over your lids and brow bones.

VIVA LA FRESH FACE!
September 1st, 2009

Beauty Buster

We’re starting to cool down this week. Don’t forget to tweak your skin regimen to keep your skin soft and hydrated. It’s as simple as swapping your oil-controlling cleanser and lightweight SPF day lotion for a mild cleanser and a more emollient day cream (with SPF). VIVA LA FRESH FACE!
