October and the Snohomish Festival of Pumpkins are the perfect time to enjoy the beauty of the Snohomish County countryside and the bounty from the local farms. Search for the perfect pumpkin, enjoy an “a-maze-ing” experience in one of the local cornfields, see farm animals, and delight in a variety of activities for kids of all ages.
If you do get your pumpkin this weekend, here’s a tip to keep your jack-o-lantern fresh!
Pumpkins shrink because they loose their moisture so soak your carved pumpkin in a tub of water overnight and then rub inside and carvings with petroleum jelly. Also don’t get a pumpkin with a dry stem. That means it’s already getting old.
