Would you know what to do if a natural disaster hit the Seattle area? While the Northwest is a beautiful place, it is also home to many possible disasters just waiting to happen. We live on a huge fault line that could cause a major earthquake which along is bad enough, but an earthquake could also trigger a tsunami in the Pacific. Not to mention the active volcano range with Mt. Rainer that could blow someday.
So even if you’re not as paranoid as Monti, being prepared is a good idea and we talked to Siri-Elizabeth McLean, the Plans and Training Manager of the UW Emergency Management, A Division of Facilities Services at the University of Washington. A long title for this woman because she’ll get you prepared for any natural disaster. Listen to what natural diasters are most likely to affect Seattle and how to get you and your family prepared for them!
